Campbeltown Sea sports Initiative – Summer sailing lessons

The courses will run between 2 July and 12 July as follows:

Course 1   Daily 2 July till 6 July, 10 am till 1pm (participants aged 8 to 16, Beginners)

Course 2 – Daily 2 July till 6 July, 2pm till 5 pm (participants 17 and over, Beginners)

Course 3 – Daily 8 July till 12 July, 10 am till 1pm (participants aged 8 to 16, Beginners)

Course 4 – Daily 8 July till 12 July, 2pm till 5 pm (participants all ages 8+, Improvers)

You must be able to swim 25 metres in open water.

 

About the course;

The cost is £30 for those under 16 or in full time education or unemployed

£50 for adults (who are not in full time education and are in employment)

At the end of the course you will have learned to sail small dinghies and be able to sail independently and with another person. Those over 16 will have the opportunity to be assessed at RYA Level 1 or higher. Younger sailors will be assessed at RYA Stage 1, 2, 3 or 4.

On course 4 those with previous experience will be able to progress onto higher levels of RYA Dinghy sailing skills.

All sailing equipment and a suitable buoyancy aid will be supplied free during the course.  If you sign up you will be contacted with advice about suitable clothing and any other relevant arrangement details.

You will also have membership of Campbeltown Sailing Club until end of December 2018.

Campbeltown sailing Club has a number of sailing dinghies that you will be able to use under supervision.

What you need to do.

Complete a consent form/ application form making sure you note which course you want to attend. Return the consent form plus £30 or £50 to S Gallagher, 1 Hutcheon Court, Campbeltown.

Alternatively pupils of CGS can return the form and fee to Mr Walker, Science Department.
